April Minutes

Our next meeting, MAY 24, will be a hybrid meeting.  If you are able and feel comfortable to come to Southfork Community Center, we would love to see you.  A zoom link will also be available.  

Since we did not meet in-person at the April meeting, please remember to bring your items for Senior Services to the May meeting.  Suggested for April items were hair care products.  May suggested items are liquid soaps, but Bev says anything is appreciated. 

Our item to SWAP if you are interested in doing that is a ZIPPER POUCH.  If you make one, you can take one.  No need to sign up, just bring it to the May meeting.

The Round Robins are due in June!

We have some fun programs coming up this summer.  May is going to be a Zoom presentation by Leila Bowman on Organization.  In June we will have Shirley Bailey from Sew Original to talk to us about all things Needles and Threads.  In July we will be having a Members Spotlight, aka small trunk show, and an Ice Cream Social. If you are interested in showing your quilts let Lee know.

We are still working on the Raffle Quilts, first Tuesday of the Month at Ann Monroe’s house.  Please contact Ann if you can also help from home with some sewing.  MAY 10, is the next Zoom Sewcial and Ann will open her home that evening as well to continue working on the quilts.  Please let her know if you can come.  Also, we are needing ideas where we can “show” our raffle quilts and sell tickets.  This is our big fundraising effort, so please help if you can.

March Minutes

 Our next meeting, April 26 is going to be a hybrid meeting.  If you are able, we will be meeting at Southfork Community Center at 6:30.  If you are not able, there will be the zoom option.  Our speaker will be Anita Grossman Soloman.  This is a great opportunity for you to take advantage of because she had to cancel back at the beginning of Covid and has since decided to retire. 

Her program may be easier to watch via zoom, but seeing everyone again is also great!

Suggestions for Senior Services for April is hair care products:  shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo.  Bev will have fabric at the next meeting also if you would like to make a quilt to donate.  Cash is always an option.

The FIRST Tuesday of the month is our day to work on the Raffle quilts.  We will be meeting at Ann Monroe’s house April 5, 5:30 - 8ish.  Please text her if you will be able to come.

The SECOND Tuesday of the month is the Zoom Sewcial if you’d like to “attend” at 6:30.

Our next SWAP will be a zipper pouch due at the May meeting.  Our needle keeper swap was so fun!  Like that SWAP there is no need to sign up!  Just make one and bring it in May.

The Round Robins are due at the April meeting.  If you will not be able to attend and bring yours, please contact Kara so she can help keep things rolling.

February Minutes

We are hoping to be able to have an in-person meeting March 22 at SouthFork Community Center.  It will also be on Zoom if you do not feel ready to join in-person.

Lee is in charge of the program for March and it is gonna be a fun one! A traveling pressing station!  Lee will be sending out an email with all the details.

There are still quite a few people who have not paid membership dues.  You can still do that!  Please send your checks to Karen Camm payable to TMQG for $50.  This allows you to enjoy the programs for this year and all the National Modern Quilt Guild resources.

For March, we are collecting lotions, lip balm, moisturizers, etc. for Senior Services.  If you have not been able to drop any items off, this next month will be a great time to bring items not only for March, but also January (adult diapers) and February (dental health items).

Don’t forget to bring your Needle Keepers for the March Swap to the meeting.  No need to sign up.  Kara sent an email this week if you need ideas.

If you are able to come work on our Fundraising Quilts we will be meeting the first Tuesday of each month at Ann Monroe’s house.  Our next meeting will be March 1st from 5:30 - 8:30.  Please text Ann to let her know if you will be able to come.  No food please and masks are required.

January 25, 2022 Meeting Minutes

• Next SWAP will be Needlebooks due in March. Fingers crossed we will be meeting in person and can swap there.  No signup is required, just make one and you can swap! Contact Kara if you have any questions about it
• Fundraising quilts - we will begin working on Cane Creek this Tuesday at Ann Monroe’s house 5:30 - 9.  Please contact her if you have not already told her you are coming.  No food please and masks are required.

Ellen opened our holiday meeting 

Updates:

Bev - Senior Services:  January we will be collecting adult diapers.  Cash is always an option.

Ann - Fabric and batting is available for anyone who would like to make quilts for Senior Services.

Kara - A new Round Robin swap will be announced in January.

It was announced that we will be making 2 throw size quilts for the Raffle Quilts for next year. The patterns we will be using are Cane Creek and Twisted Turns both by our own Lee Monroe.  We will be meeting on some Friday nights to work on them in the new year.  More details about dates and times to be announced in January.

In order for a change to be made in the Bylaws, the vote for raising our annual dues to $50/year will be made at the January meeting.  As mentioned in earlier emails, the increase in dues will take the place of additional $5/per national speakers that we have.  Usually we have 3-4 a year, so this is a bargain and also less bookkeeping.  If you have not paid your dues, please try to do that at the next meeting in January.

Christmas games were played and we also signed Christmas cards to be passed out to the clients of Senior Services.

Sheri Colette opened the meeting at 6:30 pm and turned it over to Ellen Quillen, new President.

Ellen thanked Sheri for keeping the guild together during Covid.

Committee reports-

Treas. - Karen Camm welcomed  new members:

Carol Stanley from Canada, Lisa Wallace, Lexington,  Joan Schnute and Maria Finklestein, returning members, and Hannah Edwards, new member in person.

Senior Services- Bev Swaim is taking donations for Christmas in July; also cash or checks. Next month's item is Protein Bars. She also has quilts that need binding.

Swaps- Kara Libby mentioned the current swap is due today. Those involved in the swap showed off their I Phone cases.  The next swap will be a pin cushion and you can make your own version. Sign up is Aug. 8, and they are due Sept. 28th. She encouraged everyone to sign up for the Round Robin quilt.

Programs - Roseanne Morgan reminded all that our next meeting in August will feature Timna Tar via zoom. On August 20, Lee Monroe is offering a workshop on her newest quilt pattern , here in the ballroom. The class will run from 9:15am- 4:45pm and the cost is $70 for members, and $80 for non-members and includes the pattern. Once you have registered you will receive a list of what to bring. You may register in advance  via Paypal which will be on the blog, or pay by check  to TMQG to Karen Camm. If you want a kit please email Lee Monroe.

Lee Monroe introduced our speaker, Heather Givens of Crimson Tate, who talked about her journey into quilting. She began making Harriet headbands to support her love of fabric and quilting.

Show and Tell- people who made and bound quilts for Senior Services showed off their quilts .

Fundraising- Heather Zifchak  passed out an information sheet about the fundraiser, and passed out packs of tickets to members present. All members will be required to sell tickets. You can pick up your ticket pack at Heather's home, 1012 Greenhurst Dr. Winston Salem, or at the next meeting. A QR code will be sent digitally plus a link to Paypal to where tickets can be purchased. All proceeds go to workshops and teachers.

Lee Monroe will teach a workshop to make her brand new quilt, Cane Creek, published August 2. Featuring flying geese blocks, Lee will share her tips for perfect piecing and much more. Registration price includes the pattern, you must bring your own sewing machine, fabric, and lunch.

Bev Swaim and Ann Monroe- Senior Services- July is "Christmas in July". Items needed are food, household products, personal car items, plastic bottles, acrylic paints, activity books. etc. For more info follow the link on the Senior Services web site. Bev will collect at her home between the 7th-27th or bring items to the next meeting.

Sheri and Joan are quilting and binding quilts for Senior Services. More volunteers are needed to make and bind quilts.

Heather Zifchak- Fundraising-  The Goal is to raise $2000. For the Tula Pink accessories, tickets are 1 for $2.00 or 3 for $5.00.

The Featherweight sewing machine with all accessories  is valued at $450. 1 ticket is $5.00 or 5 for $20.00. Each member will be required to sell $40 worth of tickets. Tickets will be available July 27th. The drawing will be November 23rd. Marketing will be for our group only. Tickets can be sold online, at local shops, and other guilds will be notified. Tables can be set up at Church bazaars to sell tickets as well .

Roseanne- upcoming meetings- the July and August meetings will be hybrid (via zoom). It was proposed that a local person hold a workshop.

Lee Monroe will be hosting a Creative Spark online  presentation on Friday, July 30th. Sessions are $5 each or a bundle for $20. 

Don't forget to sign up for Quilt con which will be in Phoenix next year.

Triad Modern Quilt Guild May 25, 2021

 Ann Monroe chaired the meeting for out-going President, Sheri Colette. Sheri was thanked for her service.

Committee reports:

Treasurer, Karen Camm, introduced new members, Jay Rodda (Kara's mother) and Stacie Mawson.

She mentioned that we can use Zelle with no fees, whereas Paypal charges fees. No decision was made at this time to use Zelle.

Community Outreach:

Beverly Swaim will collect soups, canned meats, and peanut butter this month for Senior Services.

Items may be left at  her home or brought to the June meeting at South Fork. Collection dates are June 12-20.

SWAP:

Kara Libby had the recipients of the March swap show their bags. The next swap signup begins June 1 and due by  July 27th. The swap will be an IPhone or IPad holder. Participants may deliver the swap to the recipient or bring it to the blended meeting in July. 

Zoom Sit and Stitch will continue the 1st Tuesday of the month.

Programs: Roseanne Morgan  presented an overview of upcoming programs and meetings.

June's meeting will be Christmas in July- bring a Christmas item to share.

July's meeting will be a  blended meeting at South Fork  with a zoom presentation by Heather Givens,

In August Timna Tarr will present a zoom class at South Fork. 

No programs are scheduled for Sept. and Oct. at this time.

November will be a pot luck and ornament swap at South Fork.

In the future we may have a scissor sharpener for those who are interested. 

Roseanne introduced Lee Monroe, our speaker for tonight's program.

Lee showed and demonstrated quite a few Bernina Sewing machine feet. Some of the feet are the same for other brands of machines.

To begin, Lee explained the stitch plates. One has a single hole, where the needle can't be repositioned, and creates more accurate stitching. The wider hole plate is for moving the needle sideways as in zig zag sewing and free motion quilting. 

The next two feet shown were the Edge Foot and the Blind Hem Foot. which have guides and are used for top stitching and perfect edges.

Feet 52-58 are Teflon coated feet which sew on vinyl and  oil cloth. They lightly grip the fabric.

The open toe ft. has a wide opening for a decorative stitch. 

The Roller Ball Foot, #51 does the same on oil cloth but works best on leather.

To get the same effect as a Teflon foot, you can apply a piece of matte scotch tape on the bottom of a regular foot. 

The Clear Foot #52D is used for decorative stitching, satin stitch and zigzag.

Several different feet are used to ruffle and gather fabric:

The Ruffler foot makes strong  pleats and uses more fabric and good for dust ruffles.

The Gathering Feet #15, and #16 are used in smaller areas.  

The #39C Clear foot can guide cording to space out fabric so you can have fullness where you want it. Gymp or 12 wt. thread can be used for cording.

The Button  Attachment Foot #18 attaches buttons.

The Binder Attachment Foot can feed bias tape through in one step. This foot is best used for placements, not heirloom quilts.

The Flat Felt Foot #71 can slide in already made bias tape.

The Spanish Hem Foot can sew two pieces of fabric together (side by side)

The Circle Embroidery Foot can sew any decorative stitch into a circle. Use tear-away stabilizer when using this foot.

When doing Free Motion Quilting , Lee recommends using Bernina's Stitch Regulator which keeps stitches evenly spaced.

The Ruler Foot rides against the edge of rulers and has attachments for circles.

The Walking Foot moves fabric from the top and has it's own feed dogs.

And lastly, the Free Motion Couching Foot can guide cording while doing free motion quilting.

Join us for an ice cream social and a Christmas in (almost) July event.  Won’t it be great to see each other again?  Please bring ideas for handmade Christmas and holiday ornaments and gifts.  Be ready to show your handmade item and provide instructions (or information on where to get instructions.)  Or just visit and eat ice cream!

Timna Tarr is a modern quilt designer who has visited us in the past.  Her workshops include working with color and making fabric maps. We had hoped to have her for workshops last year, but COVID happened.  This year, Timna will be joining us via Zoom and we will watch from South fork or from home.

Roseanne Morgan opened the meeting at 6:30 pm via zoom.

Currently, Southfork Community Center closes at 6pm, so we will continue to meet via zoom until further notice.

To access the MQG for the first time, your username is your email address. Set up your profile, and you will receive an invite via email.

Ellen Quillen suggested a once a month "Sit and Stitch", which will be on the first Tuesday of the month. The first one will be April 6th.

Beverly Swaim, has donated 3 quilts and lots of lotion to Senior Services. Items needed for April are small containers of shampoo and conditioner. Please drop off at her home between April 10-18. Her address is 2960 Kedron Ct. (look for the yellow door) Her phone # is (336)655-4186.

Ann Monroe and Sheri Colette need volunteers to  finish 6 quilts  for Senior Services.

Kara Libby asked those who participated in the recent swap share their bowl cozy.

The Spring Swap will be fabric baskets. Sign up is by March 30th and are due May 25th.

We will have a speaker for April's meeting on EPP (English Paper Piecing). More information will follow.

Roseanne presented the program with  videos on how cotton is processed, how thread is made, and how fabric is printed..

Show and Tell followed the program.

Triad Modern Quilt Guild

 Ann Monroe opened the meeting  on 2/23/21cat 6:30pm,with 18 participants.

She asked if there was any feedback from those attending Quilt Con- there were several

glitches. MQG will offer refunds if necessary.

Karen Camm reported that we have two new members- Jennifer and Hannah.

Beth Swaim has collected two large bags of dental supplies for Senior Services.

For March she is collecting lotion, lip balm and moisturizers and liquid soap

 which you can leave on her front porch at 2960 Kedron Ct.  Phone # 336 655-4186.

 Please drop off March 6-14.  She needs donation quilts finished at 48-60".

Bowl cozies are swaps for March. Another project will be announced by Kara Libby for April.

Heather Zifchak will send an email to promote orders for Mrs. Pumpkins items. 

There will be an upcoming raffle for the Featherweight machine.

Sheri Colette has 5 quilts to be quilted and needs volunteers. Towana, Cynthia,

 Elizabeth and Heather offered to help.

Ann Monroe introduced tonight's program and thanked the volunteers for their book reviews.

Ellen Quillen  presented "Modern Patchwork Home" which featured 1 page explanations of 

Flying Geese, EPP, Foundation Paper Piecing, and Curves, This book is not for a beginner.

Cynthia Lees presented "Kaffe Fassett"s redo of Antique Quilts from the 1800's.

 which is more like a coffee table book. It features redo's of several types of quilts from FPP

 to hand-pieced with Y seams.

Heather Zifchak presented" Tilda's World Studio" by Tone Finnenger which has 50 crafts, stuffed animals

,etc. with easy readable patterns, to scale templates, which lend themselves to using scraps.

This book is good for a beginner and younger person. Heather showed a hair bow she made from

 scraps. Tilda's world.com is on Facebook and Instagram.

Ann Monroe reviewed Walk and Walk 2.0 by Jacquie Gering . A walking foot does better with straight

 line quilting . If you have dual feed on your machine you don't always need a walking foot.

Walk 2.0 is more advanced than Walk, in which some of the designs used were argyle, gentle curves,

 sashiko  and straight line quilting.

Lee Monroe introduced us to "Sew n' Quilt" by Susan Beal,  This book has basics with small projects

 geared for teens and young adults.  It is a good book for learning embroidery, patchwork, and

construction of bags. Originally from NC, the author shows things she likes to quilt and documents

 stories about them.

Triad Modern Quilt Guild- Feb 19, 2021

 Sherri Colette opened the zoom meeting at 6:30 pm. January 26th

Tonight's program is Showcasing Heirloom Quilts and Needlework.

Visitor, Hannah Edwards, was welcomed.

All members ,outgoing and incoming, were thanked for their service.

Board Reports:

Treasurer, Karen Camm,  reported that there are 24 paid members. If you haven't

paid your dues you can send them via Paypal to Karen.

Social Media- Ellen Quillen asked that you send her a message if you don't want

 something shared on Instagram or Facebook.

Fundraising- Heather Zifchak reported that we will  continue doing Mrs. Pumpkin's.

We make $5.00 for each chicken pie sold, and there is no inventory or risk involved.

Swaps- Kara mentioned we'll be making quilted bowls. Requirements are they will be delivered

or mailed by March 23rd. If you wear a nametag to a meeting, you will receive extra raffle tickets.

Community Outreach- Beverly Swaim is collecting dental health products for Social Services

between Feb. 4-14, and also donated  Quilts sized 45-60 inches can be left at her home,

Quilt Con has opened back up for registration. Lee Monroe reported that most of 

the lectures have room, and quite a few classes have openings. All classes are pre-recorded 

and can be re-watched during Quilt Con.

Programs- Roseanne Morgan introduced Ann Monroe who is in charge of February's

program which is reviewing several fairly new quilt books. Each volunteer will

 spend 5 minutes describing her favorite part of the assigned book.

By Laws

A small committee worked to update and simplify the by laws.  They are posted below.  We would like to discuss and possibly vote on the by laws at the January meeting.  Please take a moment to read them.

Triad Modern Quilt Guild By-Laws

(Revised January 2021)

Article I:  Purpose

The purpose of the Triad Modern Quilt Guild (Triad MQG) is to further members’ modern quilting skills and to educate the community on modern and non-traditional quilting.

Article II:  Executive Board

The Triad MQG Executive Board is intended to offer the guild oversight and leadership based upon the individuals’ willingness to serve the guild.  The Executive Board of the Triad MQG will consist of:

1.  President

2.  Past President

3.  Vice President for Programs

4.  Treasurer

5.  Secretary and Membership

 Executive Board members are asked to:

1.  Contribute their experience and expertise to discussions related to the modern quilting movement;

2.  Encourage and develop relationships with individuals and organizations that may contribute to the Triad MQG educational programs;

3.  Develop membership through contacts within the quilting community;

4.  Encourage member involvement in the community through Guild relationships with local non-profit organizations;

5.  Attend (at least quarterly) scheduled Board meetings in order to conduct business that impacts the mission of the Guild.

Each year, the Guild will elect new officers: President, VP/ Programs, Treasurer, and Secretary.  Election shall be by a two-thirds (⅔) majority of all the members present at the designated meeting.  All active members with fully paid dues are eligible to volunteer for a position on the Executive Board.  Board members will serve for the January - December fiscal year.

Board members may volunteer for a position for more than one term, however, the Treasurer may not serve any longer than two consecutive terms.  It is advisable that Board members exit the Board periodically, to allow others the opportunity to serve and to provide fresh input to the Guild.  Outgoing Board members are asked to work with replacement members with transfer of duties.  Specific duties of each office include the following:

The President shall be responsible for:

1.  Conducting regular monthly meetings, 

2.  Chairing (at least) quarterly Board meetings, 

3.  Overseeing updates to the By-Laws;

4.  Securing coordinators for item swap/ challenge, fund raising, community outreach, social media, and other committees; 

5.  Carrying out any corrective action (if needed) towards members; and 

6.  Performing other duties as required.

The Past President shall be responsible for:

1.  Providing guidance to the Board;

2.  Sharing experience with the Board; and 

3.  Conducting the monthly meeting in the absence of the President.

The VP for Programs shall be responsible for:

1.  Securing programs for monthly meetings;

2.  Scheduling national speakers and workshops as funds allow, 

3.  Securing activities such as sew-ins; and

4.  Providing information on other quilting events, as available.

The Treasurer shall be responsible for:

1.  Receiving and accounting for all Guild monies;

2.  Disbursing funds as authorized by the Board;

3.  Maintaining a permanent records of all funds;

4.  Being signatory of any/all accounts linked to the guild; 

5.  Ensuring that all member dues are current and paid,

6.  Providing a brief financial report at each monthly meeting and as needed; and

7.  Collecting fees at the door for national speakers, generally $5 for members and $10 for guests.

The Secretary shall be responsible for:

1.  Keeping notes of monthly meetings;

2.  Keeping a permanent record of all meetings, including, but not limited to, meeting notes;

3.  Posting minutes and event announcements to the blog; 

4.  Inputting interested persons’ email addresses to the blog list;

5. Maintaining accurate membership lists on the Modern Quilt Guild website;

6. Providing a membership directory to all members;

7.  Providing raffle tickets to monthly meeting attendees; and 

8.  Assisting the Treasurer, as needed, during meetings where monies are collected.

Article III:  Coordinators

Coordinators shall report to the President and/or Executive Board.  They may form groups to assist them in their duties, as needed.  Coordinators do not hold any authority except that which is granted to them by the Executive Board.  Terms are for one year, however, a member may volunteer for multiple terms.

Swap/ Challenge Coordinator:

1.  Organizes two or three item swaps per year, either internally, or with other Guilds;

2.  Setting a calendar for swap related activities; and

3.  Attending meetings to lead and direct swap related activities.

Fundraising Coordinator:

1.  Promotes and guides the guild through activities to raise monies, as needed by the guild.

Social Media Coordinator:

1. Maintains the internet presence of the Triad MQG on FaceBook and Instagram; and 

2.  Posts announcements of events and meetings.

Community Outreach Coordinator:

1.  Encourages the making of donation quilts (45” to 60” in size) for our designated non-profit organization; and

2.  Collects and delivers the donated quilts and any other items that the NPO requests and the Triad MQG members donate.

Article IV:  Members

Members shall be engaged in or interested in modern quilting.  Membership dues are $40 per year.  Each member is eligible to:

1.  Volunteer to hold an elected office;

2.  Serve as coordinator or on a committee; and

3.  Vote in elections for officers and/or on other issues brought before the membership.

Members are asked to:

1.  Pay annual dues by the January meeting of the current year (new members may join at any time);

2.  Attend meetings and sponsored workshops;

3.  Volunteer to participate in educational programming as a speaker or with technique demonstration;  

4.   Assist with fund raising; and

5.  Donate quilts and/or other requested items to our designated community non-profit organization.

Members may bring guests.  Guests may attend two meetings without a fee.  However, meetings with national speakers may incur a charge of $5 for members and $10 for non-members to help defray the costs of obtaining the speakers.  Guests wishing to attend more than two meetings are asked to join.  They may join at any time by paying the $40 dues.

Article V:  Use of Funds

No part of the net earnings 0f the guild shall be for the benefit of, or be distributable to its members, leaders, officers, coordinators, or other private persons except monies paid as reasonable compensation for services and/ or supplies.  Members should seek approval from the President and/or Executive Board before purchasing supplies or services for the Guild.  Reimbursements for supplies shall be made only with the presentation of a valid, original receipt.  The Executive Board retains the right to refuse reimbursements that were not pre-approved.

Article VI:  Amendments

The Triad MQG bylaws will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Executive Board.  Proposed changes must be submitted to the Secretary at least one month prior to the meeting in which a vote will occur.  The Secretary will post the proposed revision on the blog at least two weeks prior to the meeting. 

The Triad MQG bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the Triad MQG by a two-thirds (⅔) of all the present members.  

Article VII:  Dissolution

In the event of dissolution of the Triad MQG, any and all funds remaining in the treasury shall be donated to local non-profit organization(s).  The recipient(s) will be determined by a majority vote of the members of the Executive Board.

January 2021 Meeting and Other News

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the TMQG.  This past year has been challenging in many ways, but, on the good side, we probably had more time to sew.  Let’s hope that 2021 will see us getting back to a more normal life where we can meet again in person.

Community Outreach

And speaking about sewing, please consider making quilts to donate to Forsyth Co Senior Services.  If you need fabric or batting, contact Ann Monroe for materials.  Completed quilts should be 45” - 60” by 45” - 60” (squares or rectangles).  Just think, a small quilt would be the perfect size to attempt a new technique and/or domestic machine quilting!

Officer News

Let’s give a hearty “THANK YOU!” to our outgoing officers and committee coordinators.  If it wasn’t for the women who volunteer their time, we wouldn’t have this group with whom to share our passion for fabric, thread, color, and pattern.  It took us a little while to pick up  programs as the pandemic dragged on, but Annalise accepted the challenge like the trooper that she is!  Bethany organized our Zoom technology.  Cynthia managed our money well.  And swaps were arranged by Coleen; unfortunately, her efforts were derailed by the pandemic.  Many thanks to these women for what they did for our guild in 2020.

Annual Membership Renewal

Dues for the year are $40.00.  This covers membership in the Triad Modern Quilt Guild for the year (11 meetings, Jan - Nov) and membership in the Modern Quilt Guild.  Membership in the MQG gives you regular informational emails, access to webinars and patterns on the MQG website, and early access to QuiltCon registration.  We ask that you send your dues in as soon as possible.  Please send your check (payable to the Triad Modern Quilt Guild) to:

January Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 6:30 pm.  At this meeting, which will be on Zoom, we would like to showcase our families’ heirloom quilts and needle work.  Please send photos of 2 - 4 items with overall views and close-ups of workmanship.  Please be prepared to say a few words about the ancestor who did the work and the work itself.  We will curate a slide show with your submissions.  ALSO, if you have any of your new work for Show and Tell, please send those photos as well!

By-Laws Update

The TMQG By Laws were extremely out-of-date, so a small committee set out to update them.  They are now with the officers and committee coordinators for a final review.  They will be submitted to TMQG members via the blog mid-January for a January meeting vote.
