TMQG meeting - June 23, 6:30 via Zoom!
LET'S RECONNECT! The TMQG will be resuming monthly guild meetings on Zoom beginning 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 with a SIT & SEW! Grab a project and a comfy chair, and let's just hang out. We'll have SHOW & TELL and will make a HUGE announcement about our special INTERNATIONAL guest speaker we'll learn from at our July meeting.
To participate in SHOW & TELL, we're asking members to email photos of one or two projects they wish to share to triadmqg@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. Saturday, June 20. A TMQG board member will facilitate a screen share of your photos and will give you an opportunity to share your work during the meeting with guild members.
Make sure you download the Zoom app and try to log in prior to the meeting. Access to this computer program will be especially important for the July meeting!

Greetings from the Triad Modern Quilt Guild
Greetings to All!
The TMQG Board members have met to discuss meeting options for our group as we wade through COVID-19 concerns. We do not know when the South Fork Community Center will reopen. Also, many of our members have medical issues that make contracting the virus a serious risk. So, what are we to do?
Since meeting together is not an option at this time, we are contacting our upcoming speakers to either reschedule for next year or to request that they provide their program on-line. And since using the internet eliminates the need for travel expenses, we are also looking outside the eastern US for other speakers for this year (hint - possibly from the land down under?). Information about the adjusted schedule will be forthcoming.
We will be using Zoom for the meetings. It is a FREE program for meeting participants. And unless one holds small meetings of short duration (which are also free) it is the host who pays. The Modern Quilt Guild has set up an account for chapter members to use.
In order to participate, the attendee must have the Zoom software on their computer or device. There are apps for phones and tablets. These are FREE downloads from your device’s app store. The Windows download is available at Zoom.us If anyone needs assistance please contact me, Roseanne Morgan, at 45rpm@att.net or 336.391.0653 and I will try to assist.
We would also like to continue with the swap projects. To do this we will need everyone’s mailing address. And it would be nice to have phone numbers so we can keep in touch. We will be asking everyone to fill out a form (soon) so that we can put together a membership directory to be shared with group members.
While you are playing with your tech, take photos of your sewing projects! We are also working on a method of “show and tell”. Hopefully everyone has been able to sew something other than masks. ; )
So stay safe, be healthy, and download Zoom. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
